Obed Floan, M.M., serves as Executive Director of St. Croix Valley Opera, where he and his wife, Megan Wagner, live within the community the organization serves. With over 30 years of experience as a performer, educator, voice instructor, producer, and promoter, Obed has collaborated with master teachers and opera artists worldwide. A finalist in the Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition under the patronage of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II of Denmark, he was recognized among the world’s most promising Wagnerian singers. Obed made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2015 as winner of the Gerda Lissner Foundation International Vocal Competition (Wagner Division). Dedicated to sharing his expertise and love of music, he has guided students to professional careers in opera, Broadway, national tours, and prestigious young artist programs.
