This winter season at the Octagon House Museum we look back to the 1860s when the Moffat family celebrated Christmas during the time of the United States Civil War. Christmas decor is indicative of the Civil War era, while period artifacts placed through the house showcase the museum’s Civil War artifact collection pieces. All are welcome to step back in time and appreciate a Civil War Christmas with the Moffat family this December at the Octagon House Museum.
The museum is open for viewing the first three Saturdays and Sundays of December between 11am and 4pm. Guided tours are by availability or advance reservation. Admission is $8 per guest for students, $15 per guest for adults, $40 for families of 4 or more, or with a discounted rate of $12 for seniors, AAA members, military, first responders, and educators.
Thursday, December 14 we invite neighbors and visitors to the Octagon Christmas Light Tour at 6pm. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy a twilight Christmas light tour of the historic Octagon House Museum.
Tickets are available online at www.hudsonoctagonhouse.org or onsite at the Octagon House Museum, located at 1004 Third Street in Hudson, Wisconsin. Contact Octagon House Museum staff by dialing 715-386-2654 or by emailing octagon@hudsonoctagonhouse.org for further information.
